A Service Center typically provides a variety of resources and services for a specific geographical area to facilitate hope, recovery, and serenity to family members and friends of problem drinkers. They encourage members to experience the miracles of recovery and growth through participation in Al-Anon/Alateen meetings and service opportunities.
They often also provide literature and information to the public and members of Al-Anon/Alateen and have associated telephone hotlines for those wishing to speak directly but anonymously to Al-Anon members.
